Griena "Goody" Choi-Trask, CalASTA Stockton Section President graduated from the University of the Pacific Conservatory of Music in 2006 with a BM in Vocal Performance and in 2008 with an MM in Music Education. Goody has been a private Suzuki violin/viola teacher since she was 19 years old and has taught violin/viola/cello in several Suzuki programs in Fairfield, Napa, Livermore, and Mountain House. She taught public school strings (grades 4-12) in Lincoln Unified School District for eight years. Goody was also the Director of the Solano County Youth Orchestra having taught the Orchestra class at Solano Community College. At San Joaquin Delta College she was the director of the string orchestra class. Goody had the honor of being the first Guest Conductor for the San Joaquin County Middle School Honor Orchestra in 2012 and in 2018 Goody was the Co-Director of the Advanced Suzuki Institute at Stanford University. Goody has been a performer, educator, conductor, clinician, adjudicator, and master class teacher in her 20+ year career as a violinist/violist. Her teaching experience also includes the Suzuki Early Childhood Education classes for babies and toddlers. Currently as the Director of the Mountain House Suzuki Strings program Goody lives in Mountain House with her husband, son, and four dogs.
Sydney Scott currently teaches violin, orchestra, and general music in Salida Union School District. Scott also teaches private violin and viola lessons at Modesto Academy of Music and Design. Ms. Scott received a M.M. in Music Education at the Conservatory of Music at the University of the Pacific and B.M. in Violin Performance at West Virginia University. As secretary of the Stockton Association String Teachers Association, secretary of Stanislaus County Music Educators Association, and active performer, Sydney helps to provide many musical opportunities for students and families in her local community.
Donna Harrison is a retired music educator from the Turlock Unified School District directing orchestras at the elementary, middle school, and high school levels for over 30 years. Mrs. Harrison was the recipient of the 2012 Richard L. Levin Orchestra Educator Award from the California Music Educator Association, recognizing excellence in orchestra education and performance at the state level. She has served as orchestra and string adjudicator throughout California and is a Past President of the California Orchestra Director's Association. She is currently the Treasurer of the CalASTA Stockton Section. Mrs. Harrison maintains a private lesson studio and performs violin professionally with the Modesto Symphony Orchestra and Con Brio String Quartet.
